Rustic Elegance...An auction find turned to rustic elegance.

Hey guys! You must check out this beautiful dresser Kristy scored at an auction and redid for a client. She used a beautiful shade of a blue/green called Woodlawn Valley Haze. It's one of our favorite colors to use. It came out beautifully but unfortunately we do not have before pictures of the dresser, we forgot that part this time around (oops). However, you must check out this Rustic Elegance.

Check out the cute little surprise on the inside drawers

From mousey to elegantly chic

Here's the latest piece at Prairie Sisters Chic Boutique. A side table we scored at an auction. She has great curves and lines. I painted and stained the top with several colors of stain. I have done this process before and loved the way it turned out. I painted the tips of the legs white and went over them with stains. Love this little lady. Simple yet full of her own character. You can check her out below...

Sneak Peak...

After...Chickens and Roosters seem to be popular out here in Wyoming so Kimberly found this adorable chicken print from Jo-Ann's Fabric Store and made it into a more modern and funky take on the chicken and rooster phenomenon happening this way.

She Thinks Pink!

Hi everyone! It's Kimberly here from Prairie Sisters and I'd like to share with you all a very special project I've had in mind for quite some time now. I had trouble finding a piece worthy enough to let my creation take place. We've had this little white night stand sitting in the back of our storage unit forever. With all the auctions we attend and thrift stores it kinda got lost and over looked. I found it and new that it would be perfect for this project. Here's to the strong women of yesterday, today and all of their tomorrows!

The before....This was a forgotten little night stand sitting in the back of a dark storage shed.

I sanded it down and sprayed a primer on it. I then painted it a white called Snowy Mount from Olympic Paints in a Satin. The drawer I painted Oxford Pink from the Eddie Bauer line in Valspar Satin.

After...I wanted to be creative in a positive way and support a cause, so I decided to go with a pink ribbon stencil effect rather than chevron or stripes. Here's to the strong and the fighters!
The Process..After the first coats of the white and pink I then ruffed up the entire night stand with sand paper. Hand painted the breast cancer ribbon on the top and bottom of the night stand in Oxford pink first. After that had dried I went around the edges with Barely Pink from the PANTONE collection in Valspar/Satin. I then sanded over them for that aged feel. I also painted a ribbon inside the drawer. When that was done I then went over the entire night stand with a Minwax water based coffee tint stain, coated it with Cabot's Semi-Gloss Polyurethane and added a beautiful knob.

Hand painted pink ribbons for a stencil effect.

I'm really happy with the results. It came out just as I had imagined and supports women fighting everywhere.
